What's behind West Ham's spending?
No one seems to have questioned this? Why are they spending more than they have ever spent at any club. All seems a bit weird that it's basically got pegged down as a result of the fans unrest but it hasn't forced there hand before. It was also weird that Swallows group went quiet after they met them with them saying they were satisfied with what they heard.

Why the change of track? I heard a rumour the other day it's due to Tripp Smith with a view to the rest of Black Stone getting involved but surely they would have got involved and then done this as doing it the other way just increases the value first...

Or Sullivan & Gold have finally realised they won't be able to take it with them. It's possible they are giving their kids a chance by changing tack and realising their dream as fans to leave a legacy to be remembered by rather than being despised.

It is possible and I'm forever optimistic rather than pessimistic....

Didn’t we have some PE guy take a significant stake. I think we have clearly accessed the credit markets in a bid to get the value up ahead of a sale.

Fixing it up...using cash flow to improve the image and raising the value of the club...
Getting ready to sell in the next few years...at Maximum Value...

A very good strategy...but needs continued improvement and good results in the league and cups...

He probably meant he'd fund the deal but lend the money to the club, he would never pay for a player himself and he can't legally.

Obviously that is because of the FFP rules that are now in place. I may be wrong, but I thought that the restrictive part of FFP was on wages not on player acquisitions, There tends to be a correlation between player signings and players wages i.e. the more expensive the player the higher his wages, but not always, i.e. if a selling club knows you're desperate they may hike their valuation of a player but the players wage demands are well within budget, in which case a wealthy owner can make up the difference on the purchase price?

I'm sure I read a quote by Sullivan in one of the recent transfer windows where he said if the right player was available he would pay the transfer fee out of his own pocket....obviously one of his lies but was the context of what he was saying a lie as well in terms of FFP?

Yeah. Finding the right management team was almost surely the reason. Makes sense to give it a go if you believe in Avram.

No dent on the boards income stream.
Loans of 7.5% helps.

i was gonna suggest a profitable year for tits and fannies but I am sure there is a more sensible explanation.

Well the player sales in January helped and the chronic under investment since we moved to the OS has probably helped too.

I fully agree. Huge credit to Sullivan for actually making contact to hire him in the first place...

then further credit for fully backing him once MP agreed to come aboard

it's virtually impossible for owners to plough money into clubs these days like they used to, it's something that weeger complained about for years and called it 'financial doping'. The money that has been spent has come from revenue generated by the club. The club also took out a 50m overdraft to complete our signings quickly, which will eventually have to be covered by players sales or further revenue.

I reckon they have a very attractive offer on the table that is dependent on them qualifying for Europe or even champions league.

Everything is being pumped in to make us successful. It has to be part of an exit strategy for those that have continually been unsuccessful.
